I was fortunate to have Creskol identify in a short time a recent find from not too long ago. The piece I’m showing today is from a dig about 3 years ago at an 1830s site. I did see the item in a book showing Seminole War sites and the author stated it was a cannon fuse. I’m doubting that ID because I have a fuse book and it’s nowhere to be found. Thanks for taking a look.🤞

You won't believe this but what you have is a stem from a faucet valve. A rubber washer goes on the flat end and the handle on the squared end. The big threaded part turns into the frame to turn the water on and off.
