Plehbah Inspired..... Update... Trade Token Info!

So after reading a few posts yesterday, I was inspired by Plah's delightful writings, and headed off in search for one of the coveted trade tokens. I met Terri at a now empty lot and began sorting through the wild array of constant bleeps.

Took me almost three hours to find what my heart desired.

I did manage to find a few other keepers along the way....

A neat looking button with what looks like a lady picking fruit?

Three miners tags, two dog tags...'49 & 97, 1937 wheat and change that I forgot to include in the pic, compact lid, airplane and an acorn. Last dig of the day was a modern cent, and as I retrieved the cent, the black feather caught my eye.

That feather is a great illusion! When I first saw it I saw a sea or lake shore with cliffs being reflected in the "water"!

Baggins...find out if/where there were old mines in your area. They were all over the place around here, so finding the tags here are fairly common.

Updated info on the token. Thanks to Jbdenham2003! I sent him a pm to see if he had any info on the token, and sure enough, he did! Here's what he had on it...

Jonas Fox was a wholesale liquour dealer in Brookside during the late 1800's and early 1900's. He also owned The Cincinnati Saloon for which there are bottles known.
I found him listed from 1890 thru 1907. It's possible that he was in business a little before 1890 though. Jefferson County, which includes Birmingham, went dry on January 1, 1908 thus ending his liquor business. Jefferson County went wet again in 1911 and stayed that way until the entire state of Alabama went dry in 1915.
