pocket knives

I have found a half dozen pocket knives lately, and they are all a ball of rust.

Is there any way to soak all the crud off and make them presentable?

I do not want to use then, maybe just get them to a condition where I can identify the maker or design.

Try soaking them in CLR or do some electrolysis.
