point of weapon?

I dug this (with permission) on a Civil War battlefield where fighting was very intense. This was among several relics I dug. The point looks natural and it is def iron. The blunt end looks like it was broken off..Thanks for looking!

Is it hollow? It looks like the tip to a scabbard. But if it's not hollow, that would rule that out.
