Hey I know some of you guys have experience with polishing silver... I've been polishing this huge Plata 900 silver tray I found awhile ago. I use blitz silver polish which is great and apply using cotton balls. Is there any better efficient way to do this? Also, how would I take scratches and scuffs out of the silver? Would I buff it up? How? Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

I use a soft cotton cloth such as an old soft towel or sock when applying my polish. I like wrights or Hagarty myself but blitz is fine too. Don't worry about the scratches. There's really nothing you can do about them other than a silversmith filling them. However the piece needs to be worth the work because it's very expensive to have done. Don't try to buff them out because you could remove more silver and do more harm than good. I would just live with some scratches and enjoy it as it is.
