Porcelain dealership license plate

Found this a little over a year ago digging in a late 1800’s-1920’s dump. I certainly didn’t expect to find a license plate in a dump of that age, but thats the fun of digging you just never know what might come up. At the time there were only about 11,500 registered vehicles in Vermont. 1915 is also the last year that VT used porcelain plates, in 1916 they switched over to pressed steel. The 0 prefix gives it away as a dealership plate and from what I can find there were 121 dealerships in VT at the time. I’ve got a decent collection of 40’s-60’s license plates I find but this is definitely the star of the collection. Something I’m unlikely to find again.Thanks for lookin!

I found a couple of Colorado dealer porcelain plates but yours in much better shape. I sure am glad you didn't ding it! Great find!!

Thanks all! One fellow online messaged me saying he’d pay “very strongly” whatever that means ��, in any case I’m certainly gonna keep it as it’s a neat early piece of Vermont automobile history.
