🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Possible cannonball fragment?

I found this at a site that was at one point a large confederate battlement. The soil has been moved so the finds are tough to come by but I have found a three ringer there in the past. This is inch thick concaved chunk of iron which makes me think it could be a frag from a large cannonball. If complete I’d estimate a ten inch or so diameter. Any help is appreciated!

Using some very scientific applications of percussive force as well as a week or so in vinegar, I’ve manage to remove most of the rust in this. I wanted to add in a few more pictures here. In my original post I said “battlement” but I should’ve used the word fortification I think. Based on the location, I’m saying this is a fragment of a cannonball until proven otherwise. I think it would’ve been 9-10 inches in diameter if it was a full sphere.

Seems to have the shape of one.
What it the thickness of the piece?

When I was in Spain we dug tons of fragments from a battle site, and this looks incredibly like one, If it came from a site known for exploding ordinance then probably yes....
