Possible Gold Mine ? Please comments

Hey Guys,

Can anyone identify the rocks from this photo.Its in a volcanic area and is been mined.I am a bit suspicious that the owners are really going for gold.Any tell tale signs that might offer a clue?

What do they say they are mining there. Like Jeff Gordon says, depending on the location, they could be digging gold, or perhaps copper, maybe silver. Locally we had a nickle mine that looked a lot like your pictures.

Pretty sure it is bauxite mine in Jamaica. Bauxite is what they make aluminum out of. Lots of bauxite mines in Arkansas.

Sounds like you know something.How did you arrive at that conclusion.You are half right.Not bauxite.But very close to a bauxite mine.Its Barite and possibly au, ag, cu present.The chinese used it for road material.But its has lots of gangue. Copper streaks and pyrite.
