Possible stock inlay any ideas

No holes or markings slightly curved seems to be tin could it be a rifle stock inlay ? What year found Winchester 44WCF 1886-1895 shell casing 20ft away.

I don't think it's a stock inlay, those tend to be brass, or on higher end guns, silver or German silver. I can't say for certain that it isn't, but I would doubt it.

Definitely not a stock inlay, not made out of tin. I don't know what it is, but most likely more utilitarian in nature.
