Found this a while back, and it ended up in my Who Knows box, but I decided to see if any of you know what it is.

I was thinking it is so sort of pocket watch winder... The main section of it is solid, the piece that sticks off the side is hollow.

Any clue?

Doesn't look like the the ones I've found. It's cool looking though does it look broken at all to you?

.I would say that it's for a key wind/key set watch.

Can I ask, how you found that picture? I've been googling like crazy.

What?!?! And give up all my trade secrets!?!?! Sure. Why not...

First of all, I knew what it was, having seen them on this forum before. Then I went to Google images and searched "18th century watch winder". A number of examples popped up.
