I found this arrowhead off to the side of a trail when I was a kid at Camp Grady Spruce. This would have been in the very early 1990's. I have always wondered if it was authentic or if maybe the camp counselors tossed a few fake ones around to excite the young campers. I am not sure what kind of stone it is, but it has a very chocolate like appearance. If anyone could shed some light on my find that would be great.

hi welcome to tnet
thats one of them arrowheads thay sell in stores. its not real.

if you go to the trinty river or even the five mile creek and poke around some you mite find you a real point.
i have found some down in there

I live in Austin now. I always had the suspicion it was fake because I found another smaller point on that same campout. I gave it to a friend but he lost it. It looked very similar to the one pictured, so it seemed too good to be true to find two arrowheads on children's camp grounds. Here's a picture of some of my recent finds near Lake Travis.photo (12).JPG Any info on these would be appreciated.

nice
looks like your on the right track
