This one is purely Nostalgic, I grew up State side, maybe 15 miles from border, no cable TV, so we could watch CBOT, CJOH, & one other CTV channel. On Sunday evening at 7 PM we tuned into The Beachcombers to end the weekend before the school week started Monday.

In the early 80's when I was in high school , Aldo Nova was getting a lot of radio play. We could tune into CHEZ 106 to keep our finger on the pulse of some of the music scene in Canada. I think Rogers Media now owns many stations as a conglomerate, & the formats have changed. :icon_scratch:

There's one thing seeing an artist do their talent in a big venue, or a recorded version.
Then there's the upfront, in close proximity settings as house/barn/backyard venues.
Seems that the artist is just so relaxed, enjoying themselves like everyone there.
$20 in the bowel events-potluck-BYOB-Friends it don't get any better than that.
Agree 100 percent, live music in small venues is always great, & recordings now days are engineered using technology & auto tune, synthesized etc...
