Found this at yard sale the other day for $5. Zebco Model 55 Spinner. Works great. In good shape. First one I ever sawed...

Here's one for the thread. Last Tuesday was 1/2 off at the ARC TS. This old stainless steel Zebco 33 was priced at $3.99 less 50% so it was priced even better. Not that Zebco is the finest fishing gear out there, but it's definitely a testament of the way things used to be built in the U.S.A. Looking into it I'm thinking it was made around the early to mid 1960s ? It's built pretty tough and it was really interesting researching the history of Zebco. I've had a few Zebco's growing up and I did come to admired a Garcia more myself, but I don't think this Zebco would let ya down, as it's built to last. I can't imagine how many newer plastic ones have come and gone to crap, compared to this one that just seems to be in beautifully working order.

I bought a tackle box filled for $5, and in it was a vintage knife that I sold at auction, and these vintage lures. My favorite was the Uncle Charlie, which was handmade and painted by an Orlando lure maker. Now, I look for them, specially the older handmade ones.

Memories. I learned to cast using a Zebco 202 back when I was 4. Used them until I was 10 or 11 before I graduated to an open face reel.

Personally I've never favored an open reel over a good spin caster.

Let's revive this thread. Found this reel today. Looks unused but has a small mark or two. Asked the lady how much and she says, I don't know .50? Meanwhile at the same time the daughter came out of the house, spied me holding the reel and I overheard her talking to her mother about the reel and how much and how that wasn't enough yada-yada, etc. They never said anything to me about it though. I walked around with it for a few minutes looking for something else to purchase but couldn't find anything. I knew the reel was worth more than .50 so I told her I'd give her $5 for it. She was thrilled to death. Anyway, that's one of my fishing finds of the last few months. The other was a $3 Ronco Pocket Fisherman from the early 90's (nib), sold for $29.99 w/free ship.

Just got done bagging everything up. Going to take it all down to my antique booth. But $25 this weekend I bought probably $500 plus worth of tackle. There was 60 lures and I kept 10. All the hooks that go inside the rubber worms which I know expensive when you need to buy them. A soft tackle box and probably a 100-150 + of rubber worms or for bass fishing. Nothing super expensive on the bait. not sure of this one lure with X on the bottom of it?







The rubber ones are in the car still.

Very nice find. The one with the x on it is an academy outdoors house brand called h2o xpress. Not much value, but they are good baits.

Your right, thank you very much. The seller was a tournament bass fisher. One lure he pulled out, he said its lucky lure, he won a $75,000 grand prize with that. Most of these were sponsor given pieces so no attachment. There are 6 or 7 that are custom painted and hand signed Jackson 09’. The guy selling them had 3 bass/flat boats so I doubt he was messing with me.
