So here's another thing that we've been looking at from my father-in-law's never ending collection of antiques.

It's apparently brass. It comes apart into sections. It weighs 5.1oz, 147g.

Us taking it out of the house was probably the first time it's been in sunlight in thirty, maybe forty, years.

Now you know what I know.

The plumb bob is on top.

Left to right: calipers, glass cutter, glass cutter, swizzle stick, something odd, thickness measurer.

The last item reminds me of the device used to measure thickness in spark plugs, currently called a feeler gauge I think.

I'm curious as to what the second to right item is. Maybe some sort of depth gauge?

OK. I see it now.

Not what I thought... I've never seen glass cutters like that.

The only thing I've found that even remotely resembles the shape (not the pigeon shape, but the tool itself)

is a baby food pusher or a table crumb scraper. But it's seems wrong for a baby item and too narrow for a crumb scraper.

There was one mysterious piece, of which they never spoke.

Was your father-in-law a mail man ?

No. He was an antique collector with, apparently, unlimited interests.

He was a darn good collector ... collecting one-of-a-kind.

Problem is, no one knows what they were, except him.
