Found these shards of pottery in the Shenandoah River. Number 1 is salt glazed stoneware, but it is different in that it has a top lid and another grooved edge underneath the top lid. It is about 6 " long and 4" wide. There are several shots of the interior and the exterior. Does anyone know what it might have been used for. Number two is a plate shard about 2? wide. A spindle type pattern, interested if anyone can date it. IMG_0433-001.JPG IMG_0434.JPG IMG_0435.JPG IMG_0435-001.JPG IMG_0436.JPG IMG_0436.JPG IMG_0437.JPG IMG_0437-001.JPG . Number plate has a wheat pattern along the top edge, although it is hard to see
