Pottery with a raised Marking

Hello, I found this in South Eastern Pennsylvania near a stream. Raised Marking? Any one recognize the style, material or mark? Thanks

That's an oldie! Almost looks like fired clay.

Judging by the striations on the inside and the porosity of the material, I am guessing it is older than that.

I never was able to date this? Any help with possible orgin?

Looks like sand tempered Native American pottery. As their pottery making skills got better NA's made nice thin wall vessels for use. Many had beautiful decorations on them.

Agree with newnan, I've found similar at a waterfront village.
