Got out with Gary to hit some sites.they were nailed to death.got a tombac button & a convex button.a piece of broken shoe buckle a no date IH and while walkin the old dirt road, about 10 feet in front of me i notice a shiny disc just laying on top, figuring when i get to it it's gonna be a new quarter or nickel from a hiker.Get up to it and holy crap a 1777 one reale just layin there plain as day Glad Gary witnessed this as I wouldn't have believed it if somebody told me this. a mucky wet sloppy day of hikin old dirt roads.

Nice spot. I would be digging that road, looks like not many other people have been.

Wow. How do you figure it stayed on top of the ground ??? ???

COOL! Ya reckon the heavy rains exposed it?

Not too shabby for for a pounded out cellar!! :headbang: :icon_thumright:

yeah i think a quad maybe kicked it out and yesterdays rain exposed it

Excellent Find HMN!!! That reminds me of when I used to look down and find CW bullets in cow paths at a CS camp. HH, Quindy.

Old spanish is a good no matter how it comes or is found. Nice early finds once again
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

Congrats on spotting the 1777 one reale Dave! :notworthy:

Don't you wish it was always that easy? :laughing7:

HH,
Dave

I didn't find it, but a nice US buckle was an eyeball find by the owner of a farm property after a heavy rain.
And, she wouldn't let me use a detector......guess she was waiting for another rainy day.
Great find.

Very historic area there. I am sure there are plenty more reales left for you. Very nice!

No offence intended but the coin is a whole lot better looking than that statue :icon_thumright:

Great job once again heavymetalnut.......Love finding the colonial goodies! But last week in vermont ,I found one a little older.....1776 ;D WTG

Keep on Digging!!!

:laughing9: :laughing9: No disrespect intended for the accomplishments of Gen. Knox, but that statue looks like the "Tin-Man" is ready to storm the witches castle. :laughing9: :laughing9:

By the way, great find!!
