Headed on a super brief hunt today. Went to a pounded park and the signals were either junk or very iffy. Got a very interesting signal as I was nearing the end of my hunt. It bounced from 30s to 70s to 80s. But the signal was good enough to make me dig.

Dug the plug and the signal was a little sweeter. Dug some more and sweeter still. You just have to love that! Out comes a 1912 Barber Dime. Guy with the headphones on smiles ear to ear.

Nice find! :icon_thumleft: Looks like that barber has some detail, not to badly worn. Which machine did you use? Was it the Tesoro or the Garrett? How deep was it?

it was his garret, his Tessoro doesn't have a meter and the way it bounced around with the erratic behavior is a dead give a way.

Nothing better than pulling something that sweet out when people tell you not to bother.

Yes, liftloop is correct, it was the garrett. the dime was about 8 inches down. Lost it at one point. I don't use a pinpointer, but have gotten pretty good at keeping target and finding them quickly. Dug a little more, scooped - yep in the pile. 2 seconds later it was in my hand. Fun find.

Cleaned pics coming up soon here.
