Last week I got permission from a new customer to walk his fields in east central La. I had noticed a small rise in one field about 3ft. tall. It has not rained very much since it was disked, but after this walk I will be back. I think this first one is a pecking stone or the start of a game stone:dontknow: artifacts 001.webpartifacts 002.webpartifacts 003.webpThis one shows some pecking, but also maybe the start of a nutting stone:icon_scratch:.artifacts 004.webpartifacts 005.webpSome chipsartifacts 006.webp A broke stem blade, I like the serration on it.artifacts 011.webpartifacts 012.webpartifacts 013.webpThat point is nice but the best find of the day to me was this Quartz crystal scraper or point preform:icon_scratch:artifacts 009.webpartifacts 010.webpIt may not be much to most of you, but in my area you don't find much Quartz at all.

That ''heartbreaker'' point sure is a beauty, too bad she is broken. Love that quartz to! :icon_thumright:

Yeah the last 2 are nice. Due to the pic quality it is hard to say on the first 2. Id be out doing a hunt rite now but my wife is off.

Poverty Point people made zoomorphic beads which are some of coolest North American artifacts around. Good luck on the site.
