🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Pre civil war?

Got out today hoping to find a birthday silver(no luck) but I did get this awesome military button. I believe theres an I in the shield meaning infintry. It kind of looks like a pre civil war button as the eagle looks differant,older looking I think. Any ideas?? I think it says best quality on the back in script writing which I think is cool. Was found in berks county PA in a farm field in a old town.

That's a early 1820s to 1840s 1 piece Infantry button but they are also found in some Civil War camps, so they were in use for a while.

1 piece, likely British made. Agree with others, it’s pre war, but very well could have been used during the war.
