The glass works in Venice are quite a study.
With much of it moved to Verano . A go ahead and burn the island , safety sort of thing maybe...
Venetian works certainly traveled.
There's some tales /accounts of the industry guarding it's secrets jealously.
When colonial America wanted beadworks/glasswork , recruiting from the guild was dicey for any Italians considering leaving or sharing knowledge.
Understandably. A market glutted or any reduction in demand would not be in Italy's best interest.
