Jeff,Close enough for me! I searched a ton of Van Buren medals but nothing as close as yours. I think you nailed it! Hopefully, someone will identify the back as fast as you did with the front!

Thanks so much for your help.

Good work guys!
Don, what was the auction price from your link? (It won't show without being logged in)
It seems like this must also be a rare version?, as I couldn't find one like it, even knowing what the front looked like!

It's a chest of money

Capture3.webp

One of the most widely circulated tokens of the era depicts Jackson emerging from a chest of money.holding a purse in one hand and a sword in the other. This was a reference to the fear, subsequently reported in the Albany Argus on October 1, 1842, that the liberties of the Union were threatened "by Union of the purse and sword in the same hands," a reference in this instance to the following administration of Martin Van Buren.

Jeff, Getting to be quite a history lesson,I like it! You guys searched the obverse so fast with results , would searching Scovill be a lead for pictures of the reverse ?
Thanks again for all your interest and help.
