We had a real good creek washing rain all day yesterday but today sunny and 70. I'm on vacation this week and decided to peruse the creek to see what washed up. Went upstream a bit and was happy to see the sand bars have been rearranged but the water is still cloudy so really had a hard time seeing the bottoms and did find a lot of glass shards so hoping the other type shards will show tomorrow. There was a fresh small gravel bar after one of the bends and the first thing I saw was this flake. I tried to get a good pic of it because I would like some input on the material type. It's actually more "green" than the pics show and I will take a pic tomorrow in the daylight. Looks more like copper that has turned, if that makes sense. Any ideas on the material is greatly appreciated. Maybe someday I will find the items that were made from all these pretty flakes I'm finding...hoping so anyway!

These pics are of it dry...

I wet it so you could see how it is flaked:

Sweet looks like a higher quality material I would do some more looking there patina looks thick

That is a nice one I get the feeling it was used as a flake knife

I don't think it is just a flake. Tony

Nice little flake, Kind of looks like a silicafied sandstone.

You can see the percussion bulb on it and it looks like they did some 2nd stage flaking on it. Nice find:thumbsup:

Little scraper nice find

Again- you got a good eye! Can't wait to see what you find when the water goes down a bit! Yakker
