I had a few minutes after work for myself. Boy, I needed that time. All week I've been working on CPU diagnostics for a machine of mine. I'm in no way qualified for this job. In fact, a rep. for the company that made the CPU and the diagnostics software told me "absolutely do not attempt this with no prior experience". Oops! Too late. I'd started before I even called him. Enough about that, you get the point. I'm in a pickle! Lol-(I wish, lol, no lol) and needed fresh air. I found this great point while out looking for my sanity.

Also found a scraper, half of a big blade and a cool little tool. I need you guys to tell me what it was used for.

Here is the cool little tool. I think it's a pecking stone, or was used to crack and grind nuts.

It's obvious that this piece is worn down, rather than broken. What is it?

nice finds man

Nice finds!

What type of material is that point made of?
I know I'm always asking questions but just trying to learn. Thanks for sharing!

Bmartin is correct on the material. I'm not sure about the morrow mt. Call, however. The stem has a small break on one side. That gives it the morrow mt. Look.

Nice finds- Arrowheads always helps re-leave stress

Everyone needs a mental break...and it looks like you had a great one.

Nice finds! I have to ask...what kind of machine? I'm married to a man and his machines so the nosy part of me wants to know...

Great point. Not sure notches not right for a morrow mtn but I do not know your points like you guys. Nice break from work now go put it all back together, lol.

It's a cup filling machine. My family and I run a pimento cheese factory. I know, that's pretty cheesy. I've heard all the wise cracks, no need to throw any at me.( unless they are really unique) I have worked on getting this machine to suite my needs for two years. The only thing that I didn't have to fine tune was the CPU/timing. A storm came through, sent a power surge, I panicked and started fixing things that weren't broken. It looks far more complex than it is. I've noticed my Biggest problem or character flaw is, I over complicate things. I have my software ordered. It'll be here Tuesday and I'll reprogram it. It will not be easy but I can do it. I have read all the literature and watched tutorials and slept little. The tutorials are intimidating and I know why. A company engineer gets $2,000.00 a day out of me, if they can scare me away from attempting the job. Thank God for those guys..... I haven't fixed it as of yet. $2,000.00 a day beats not getting my product out on time.

As far as I know, no Morrow Mt. Variant has notches. You are right on the Money Richard. Thanks for the view!

That is usually notched for a Morrow Mountain. I remember researching it little bit myself. I'm not trying to say that is it 100%. However, Overstreet describes a Morrow Mountain as if it can have barbs. I actually have one myself made of heat-treated tan chert, but I don't have an exact location on it. Looks very much like yours. There is a couple of pictures you can decide from in this link: Morrow Mountain | OverstreetID.com

Hey Rusty.. take a look at Buggs Island points.
No offence to the previous poster but I know you have alot of Morrow Mountain points.. heck.. I have a dozen.. nice find there.
Here is a few Morrows from North Carolina.

They can sometimes have small barbs..still they have weak shoulders and the ears don't come down at an acute angle to the typically rounded stem on the Morrow Mountain like is the case with the point above.

Sweet. I have to say I never once thought of making a cheesy comment...that's just not how I roll. Good luck. There is something about accomplishing something they say you shouldn't try!

WHEAY to go Rusty. LOL.
