PRETTY SWEET CAPPED BUST HALF DIME TODAY!

[HEAVYMETALNUT]

made plans for George(coinnut) to come down my way and look for an elusive mountain top cellar hole. at 7am like 2 billy goats we made the climb and a climb it was! never located it so we headed back down to bottom and hit 3 colonial sites that fastfrank and myself had worked in the past.today tagets were poppin! amazing what some rain will do!
frank met us at the lower sites at 9am.everyone got some keepers! George got a 1807 draped bust half cent.
my day was pretty awesome! 1 lead poker chip? has beeded rim.2 large cents.1829 matron head, looks like a worn 1798 draped bust.then i got a 1911 barber quarter and the highlight to end the day was my 1st capped bust half dime.she still has mint luster around the stars on obverse.2010 redbook lists it at $250 in AU.
i'd say it's close to AU.what a day thanks George & Frank for another great hunt! always a pleasure to hunt with you both

Thats some nice old money.

[Rick (Nova Scotia)]

Yes sir, you had yourself a great day of digging.

With keepers like that, and friends too, it don't get any better.

Sweet find! I am still waiting for any Capped Bust coin to come my way!

All of those finds are sweet!

[DMN]

Did the mark on her cheek come from the dig or was it there when you pulled her from her resting spot? Other than that the coin is truly in "just minted" EXF+ to AU. But maybe it's just the way the picture was taken. Heck, I take a mower hit AG one, if I could find any near me. Once again, terrific find.

A capped bust half dime in (likely) AU condition, with some mint luster to boot. Are you kidding me? It deserves to be up top!

A very productive day indeed! I'm envious. Went out this morning for a few hours with my new AT Pro, but came home with nothing but junk. Oh well, that happens some time. Thanks for sharing the story and pics - makes me want to get back at it real soon!!!
