Looking at buying a whites prism 4. Would like some feed back/ pros and cons. Using a bounty hunter tracker 4 now so I know its definitely a step up but, would $300 be better put elsewhere,

Don't waste your $300!

Much better options for that money. Get a new Fisher F2 w/11" DD coil or Teknetics EuroTek Pro w/11" DD coil. Not only will you get a better machine, you'll also get a warranty.

About how deep does it read?

Depends on target size. I have hit coin signals at 12 inches.

Really nothing to "upgrade" to if you're hitting 12" coins! That's quite the magic wand! I should have traded off my Dues for one of those!

Believe me, it wasn't a strong signal, just a slight chirp. Ended up being a 1910 Lincoln cent. Of course in a trashy area that wouldn't happen.
