Detector(s) used
,Eagle Spectrum, Fisher1236x2,CZ5,tesoro golden
Well i just got my new Prizm 4 today after using a bounty hunter pioneer 101 for the last 3 months since my 1988 spectrum was stolen.I am not a newbie but have decided to try writing from a newbies view.
Also I will make this as a serial as first impressions can be deceiving.
out of the box< I was impressed (and dismayed )at how light the control box was.But the 8'coil seems heavy, and throws the balance.
Off to a park that i haven,t searched yet and still unfamiliar with my detector not having watched the video and just scanned the manual started my search using full discrimination and notch to include nickels ,sens at preset.
after 2 hours here are the totals
6 aluminum bottle caps, registering as nickels
4 large wads of foil 3"or more in diameter also as nickels
3 pulltops about 3" in diameter registered as quarter
13 pulltabs at 2"or less deep registered between
2 pull rings without the tab registering as nickels/pulltab
10 pullrings complet usually a variable usually registered as pullring ZInc penny
1 clad quarter ,registered as quarter
1 clad dime registered as Dime 4"
3 zinc pennies variable Id between penny/ pulltab 2"-4"
3 copper pennies at 4"consistant Id as pennies
To sum it upif the signal was consistant
it was accurate over70% of the time, depth was accurate to within 1",pinpointing was right on target.
Most of the pulltabs could have been ignored at the risk of missing gold.
I didn,t like the balance but substituting a 950 coil would change that.
The only idiosyncracy I obseved was that many times at the end of my sweep I would get signal as if the ground balance was,t compensating quickly enough.
But would I reccomend it to a newbie? At this point absolutely.
Tomorrow I take it to the park that Iv,e already searched with my bounty hunter.
