PRO POINTER ?

Has anyone had a problem with their PP soundin off like a siren? Even wen I turned it off and it wasnt by any metal it wood do it. Then it went back to workin. Should I send it back or was it sumthin I did?

When it starts to sound off uncontrollably, it's time for a new battery. Please use good quality alkaline batteries. The cheap ones can really have a short life when used.

Thanx John, its brand new but that doesnt mean the battery is. Its worked fine today, just had me puzzled why it was soundin like a ambulance and then it stopped.. HH

Fish, I spent some time on the phone with Garrett this afternoon and one part of the conversation was about the pin pointer making the ambulance sound which describes my issue exactly. I went through the re boot and pulling the battery and new battery thing with negative results. The lady stated that this condition is the result of a faulty coil and she also stated that I needed to return it for replacement.

Thanx for the info bud. Did yours stop actin up at all? I hav'nt had a prob since but I'm still worried about it.

Put it all back together with the same good battery and left it off over night and it went back to working for about thirty minutes the next day and it did the same thing. It is on its way back to be replaced. There are other reports of the siren problem I have read on other forums.

Same thing happened with mine- sent it in and got another one like lightning. You just can't beat Garrett's customer service!

Called Garrett and they told me to send it in and sent me a NEW one , hot off the line. They did'nt even look to see what was wrong with it. Have to say I'm pretty IMPRESSED!! HH....

Mira was great to talk to. They were goin to check the pp out but she forgot to get hold of UPS for a week so when I called back to talk to her she felt so bad she sent me a new one before I even sent my away. They did right in my book.. HH
