Problem with my Grey ghost headphones

I've had them a little over a year now, and noticed the sound has been cutting out/static. I thought it was the headphone jack on the detector, so I took it apart to check. Contacts are good.
Now the phones don't work at all...I can hear sound in the distance, but it's not the detector as I verified with a cheap pair of phones. Might be time to go for a new pair of phones.
