proof halfs

You know you have a proof if the mint mark is S (San francisco)

1971-1991 proofs are regular clad.

Starting in 1992 they added a second type of proof which is silver. Check the edge. You can see that it will be regular clad or if the rim is "silvery-looking" all the way then it's a silver proof.
 
If you have a jewelers scale the weight will tell you for sure.

1995 proof in top condition can go for as much as $30 as mentioned in another post somewhere......

Just thought id mention it.
