Property/parkboundaries

Google maps. Map view. The small gray lines are supposed to be property lines. I haven't seen anything for park boundries except for NFS (BLM?) is shown in green.

Google Earth has check boxes to show most park boundries, trail heads, etc. You may have to research some of these, as they are a bit confusing. Plus there are so many areas that are governed by multiple agencies and are hard to define.

Google Earth also has plugins (addons) for alll kinds of property details.

K cool I'll check it out! Thanks!!

Speaking of Google Earth. I'm looking at the spot on the river that I frequent. Using the historical slider I can go as far back as 1993 and view the course of the river where I prospect. It's amazing how different the course is from today. Working back from today I see how my gravel bar formed and can pretty much determine the path of gold. Kinda sorta :)

Wish they had photo's during flooding.

Yeah that history slider is pretty cool. You can see how low the river was at certain times of the year too. Good for planning to go to certain areas.

Did you have to download a map? I tried that for my area and it just says internet explorer has stopped working. And it closes =/

No, after pokin around some, found a brochure which had a nice map.

Found it! I was trying the right thing all along... For some reason my computer doesn't like their site. I had to right click on the link and save the file to open the brochure.

where i am planning togo to a location, id buy that countys Plat map book. they are sold at the county seat and are about $25/35 each. it shows names of owners and property lines.

Tried the online map but it doesn't show property owners. I think I'm just going to go for it. The parcel I want to go mining at doesn't have a street address and its separate from any parcels that have houses on them. And there's no fences or signs. There's a big random chunk of land that is BLM land behind my house so I guess it could just be BLM land.

Found something pretty awesome!!! GeoCommunicator Click the box that says "Surface Management Agency" and it highlights areas on the map that aren't private property. Or at least I think that's what it is... It isn't highlighting as much as it should be.. I think it's just a little slow.

It is a real pain.. Their are places in Auburn State Rec area that they show on their maps as having trails and river acsess points and a whole a crap load of land they would have you beleive is public...The truth is you will have to do all the research and go down to multiple different offices to obtain all the right info..I have been in big battles with property owner's over trail acsess and such..Even now I have been fighting with some people over Sore finger point between Ponderosa and Yankee Jims as they have problems with me trekking the river in that area..Turns out they own the land and the dam river!!How I hate them. what ego's people have today to put claim on a river!!!Anyway just one of my fueds..My point is that their is no one map that I am aware of that tell you where you are allowed to be..So many trails and parts of the river and acsess to public lands and Designated Wild and scenic areas no longer allowed to be used without of threat of penalty!!!! So many people need to have something just to make sure some else can't...It seems our Goverment get to go and do what wants without penalty.. Oh well just a tiny fish in a big sewer..

True that. Being from Alaska, I've never really dealt with these problems before. Just park on the side of the road and get to trekking. I stopped in Seattle area for a couple years and was surprised how hard it was to even find water access that wasn't owned by someone. And here in Calif if you can find access, they want to charge you to park. Maybe we're supposed to spend our days in a cubicle and our nights at home. We're not supposed to go outside.

Wow didn't know that.. I was looking on google earth and it looks like there's houses or some kind of buildings down by the NF. Is that the area your talking about? I think it was between there.

Yeah, I was looking at that also. Haven't been there and always wondered what they were.
