I like the people on the show. As genuine as they are. I might have expected too much. I thought it was going to be about several different aspects or levels of "prospecting"
As it turnes out. It is all about a group of people digging for gems and running from the weather. Speaking of which, the weather channel seems to cancel the episodes often, just to report the weather.

I'm just waiting for a show of our interests, that keeps me entertained and enlightened.

Ya, I feel the same way. It's all about the drama. I really believe that if they left out the drama and made it more informative they would have a top notch show and a bigger following. All this drama started with Survivor.

Last nights show was quite good, and the final episode does look
to be a good one.

Don't know which gal you all are talking about, but generally the better looking
some socialite is, the greater the odds are that there is some poor bugger behind
her that is absolutely sick of her crap.

I've even started doing a little gem hunting.

I hope they do another season.

the weather channel one drove me away with the pre-empting for other crap.
once it was not on for 3, 4, 5 weeks now ?, it was no longer of interest to me.
so I unsubscribed after the 3rd. week.
but then they were not real prospectors any way,
just drama Queens looking for colored stones.
instead of prospecting for gold.

Ice cold gold on animal Planet is still holding my interest by being on each week,
so I still wanna see if they get some gold.
I still wanna see
go in there with his equipment & Tear the place up for an Ounce.

Last summer I spent 4 weeks up at the LDMA Italian Bar. You talk about drama, man I should have spent my time just videoing and come back with a 6 episode programing of all the bickering and other stuff that went on up there. Think I would have made more money on that then prospecting for Gold.

I have seen like 3 of the shows. It was ok. I saw the title and thought "gold" though. Amanda is a former model with 7 kids and recently deceased husband.. according to the shows site... Prospectors Cast - weather.com

What happened? Did they cancel the show because of severe weather coverage?
I enjoy prospecting of all sorts. But I just don't jive with gem mining all that much. Especially on this show. I don't know why Amanda just doesn't take the time out to remove all the loose rocks from above her head.
She has an assistant (who seems useless) and 7 kids to assist her in making a safe "slope" for her to mine safely or without the constant fear of rock-slides.
I would buy a small excavator and a small dump truck and remove the rocks instead of piling them up. Like one of my old bosses told me: "What's the use of handling s.h.i.t twice?"

I take it she's the one on the second or 3rd. episode who was accusing someone
of "taking food out the Mouths of her Kids" , by looking for gems too
& at a spot she'll probably never go to.
I just don't have time for wealthy people who cry poverty out of greed.
she's the one with 7 mouths to feed, & I bet her bank account could feed 70 more,
Comfortably, & if she is struggling with "7" kids,
who's fault is that ?
