Prospector's Research Tools

I haven't been around much this summer and with the desert prospecting season just starting it's a good time to show off what I did this long hot summer. I have been working with a few friends on a new non-profit organization to give you a single place for all your land research.

The result is MyLandMatters.Org. This is the gateway to your land information repository. Maps, books, tutorials, community resources and quality, easy-to-access information about the land around you.

No ads, No memberships, No log-in required.

This past spring while sitting around with some friends we came to the conclusion that most of the important and useful things that we want to know about the land around us was difficult to locate and tough to understand. Despite the many sources of information there was no single place to find the information available.
We decided we could do something about that. We agreed to put our time and energy into creating a single place that anyone could find the answers to questions about the land.
It's a big project. It has taken a lot of work, learning and resources to get things started. But after six months of long days, and more than a few nights, the Land Matters repository is ready for you to use.

Land Matters is all about the land. You can find Land Status Maps, Active Mining Claims Maps (with live direct links into the current LR2000 claims database), A great collection of mining books, Land Laws, Geology books and maps, Forest Travel Plans and a whole lot more.

Land Matters is for land users. Our collections are guided by community input. That's you. Let us know what kind of material you would like to find in our Library or a particular map you would like to see. Help us build Land Matters to best serve the community.

We've already got a lot of things that prospectors have been asking for - the claims maps alone were almost universally requested. Land Matters isn't just for prospectors and miners. But you can help prioritize our efforts and drive the content of Land Matters. Prospectors now have a unique opportunity to help guide and build an information resource designed by prospectors and for prospectors.

We are just getting started filling the Library but there will be hundreds of books, maps and items added in the next few weeks. We've even got a Newsletter so you can get regular updates about new additions to the Land Matters repository.

Check it out and let me know what you think. Here are a few good places to start:

Tutorials - the current focus is on understanding Land Status.
Maps - We all like maps and we've got some you will love.
Library - search for something.

I was going to post this update to the dedicated prospecting information thread I started 10 years ago in my efforts to help prospectors and small miners.

Unfortunately the anti-mining forces have puked all over that thread with nonsense unrelated to the subject. Pretty common tactics for that type.

Obviously there are no janitors on TNet and it smells like baby puke and dirty diapers over on that 10 year old thread now. I'm not going there until someone cleans up their mess.

So yeah. Just like the last 10 years Land Matters educational charity updated their free to the public Mining Claims Maps yesterday. As we always do twice a month.

It's still out there. Go get U sum!

ESG's can also be a strong factor here. A very large pool of recourses and financing change going on.

From time to time the monitors will address issues on the forum.

Having a conversation and sharing information is also part of the forum.

Most people will still have no problem reading the useful information and bypassing the rest.

8 posts where removed from the Prospector's Research Tools thread.

Clear enough on the pages pointed out in the posts.

POINT PROVEN!!
Yep pages 11, 16-17 of 3.1 Accuracy Requirements stated in the Data Management Protocols makes the point very clear.

Why the concern about "Data Management Protocols"?

What is the connection of "Mine" and "Data Management Protocols"?

Unfortunately the anti-mining forces have puked all over that thread with nonsense unrelated to the subject. Pretty common tactics for that type.
The following shows two links.
Land Tenure zones and Range monitoring spatial data standard

https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/policies/IB-OR-2018-029Att1.pdf

https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/policies/IB-OR-2018-049-att1.pdf

Again what the are the connections?

POINT PROVEN!!
What is the point proven?

"Maintained in a five (5) year “tech refresh” update cycle.”

“Vector annual archives are retained online for 12 years. Each year, data that has reached 12 years old is copied off-line, to be retained until no longer needed (determined by data stewards and program leads), with format and readability maintained in a five (5) year “tech refresh” update cycle.”

Is this your point proven that is required twice in 10 years?

How is a “Mine” “Claim” connected to the “Relationship to the Department Of The Interior Architecture?

If there is a connection address the concept of data sharing, data description and data context?

Perhaps some may want to focus or talk about "Baby puke and dirty diapers" compared to BLM's data defining feature code and the responsibility of "Data Stewards". If there is a "Claim" of a "Mine" it may not be very clear to a BLM employee the connection of "Baby puke and dirty diapers" applies at all and can not possibly be "Filed / recorded".

It is clear within "The State of Oregon" code that “public writings” which there are four kinds of is a important factor here with just about all of the above questions.

The cat has looked at each topic of the whole forum and did not see postings that talk about "Public writing" and the "Recording" thereof. Not to mention any of the above questions. If there is a listing within the "Legal section" can anyone let me know about it?

If you are a real human you need to get out more. A lot more, maybe take some pics of your equipment and some gold.
Most people have seen a hundred if not thousands of pictures.
Yet the topic of "Public" "Data" is a lot more harder to find in general.
Going outside is counter productive for most research work unless tracking down a "Claim" for research.

Lately some are experiencing from inches to a number of feet of snow depending on where at on the surface. Under ground is a different story.

The heading of this topic thread is "Prospector's research tools".
Going outside and taking pictures to post is nice to look at however may not help much with research unless you are tracking down a given "Claim".

The questions asked above are covered within BLM's publications. However there appears to be few willing to take a look and address the answers. Everyone knows about "Public" however is there anything else besides "Public" as a starting foundation?

If there is what are the procedures and steps of 'Non-Public matters'?

Each state has their own list of publications that are ava. to you for it's state. Some are free and some cost a small amount of $$. There is a LOT of info covered there ! Check it out !
