Protecting your shaft and cable

After tramping through some dense woods yesterday, my MD was getting tangled in the brush, and today I read on another forum that you could use foam pipe insulation to cover your shaft & cable to keep it from snagging on anything, No weight at all & very cheap." sounds like a great idea.

On my Musketeer I have plastic spiral cable wrap over the cable and shaft. Keeps it from snagging.
