It is also very similar to a WWI Russian Imperial military button.

The non-excavated brass 1-piece button in the photos below was identified by the seller as a Russian Imperial Army Ordnance Corps button. Its backmark dates it to 1895. (Note, sometimes an internet-seller's info is incorrect -- it MAY be a "general service" army button rather than an Ordnance Corps button.) I do not know how many years backward into the 1800s the SPECIFIC emblem on its front was used on Russian Imperial Army buttons.
