I went back to my favorite park. I have hunted this park hundreds of times. When I found the small lead toy I figured that would be my best find of the day. Then I got another pull tab signal. I find two types of pull tabs in this park with the smaller ones having a jumpy reading on the AT Pro of 52-54. The larger ones read a jumpy 61 to 64. The signal I got was somewhere in between. I decided to dig the target sure it would be another pull tab. When I saw silver in the hole my first thought was that it was an aluminum token. Much to my surprise it w image.webpas big silver. A barber half-my first! With the signal so weird I checked the hole again and found a buffalo. I closed the hole and rechecked for signals. I still had a mid tone and I knew it was another nickel. The buffs were 1913 type II plain and a 1916 D. Awesome spill! A great 2 hour hunt!ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1462834655.022341.webp

Congrats on the big silver and other nice coins

Congrats on that fine Barber half, and those two buffalo nicks are sure nice. The dates are very strong on both.

Sweet barber half and two of the nicest buffalo's I've ever seen dug. I got a buffalo yesterday I can barley make out the outline of the buffalo and can only read "five cents". As far as big silvers, all I ever found was a Franklin. I can't even find my first Walker.
Congrats on some killer finds!!

Wonderful "pull tabs". Dig em all and enjoy the benefits. Congrats!

I actually clean my nickels with an SOS pad. Since they come out of the ground looking so bad I figure it can't hurt. I have taken nickels that looked to have no detail on them and scrubbed them with a Brillo pad and it is amazing how much detail I get.

The nickels have pretty strong dates as they were most like not in circulation very long. I have found several 1918 coins from the time period of the old amusement park.

I dig a lot of pull tabs but sometimes I just get tired and stop. This is what keeps me digging those darn things.

Really nice spill you got there, congrats on the Barber half!

Here's my buffalo from yesterday which pretty much looks like my typical buffalo I dig. A good scrubbing can't do much harm, so I think I'll give your method a try.

I looked at your nickel. I actually think it has a lot of detail and you will be amazed when you clean it. You may even get a date. Good luck.

Awesome spill! Congrats on the Barber Half!

Nice! That Barber half is a fantastic find! :treasurechest::thumbsup:
Also amazing how nice those Buffalo nickels shined up! My method to clean nickles is to scrub them with brillo as well, I also add some sodium carbonate (washing soda) to help in the cleaning too.

The modern pull tap in SA on the AT is a 54/55 and the older pulll ring 60/67,so if your hunting gold your digging every signal .Pulltabs in general have a slightly higher pitch and dont pinpoint a sharply

Congratulations on the barber half and early Buffalos, awesome coins.

Big congrats on the big silver. Barber half dollars are not that common coming out of the ground.

if youre not digging it all - and passing up pulltab signals - you are missing gold
rings - nice half
think car is a cracker jack prize
