I went back to my favorite park. I have hunted this park hundreds of times. When I found the small lead toy I figured that would be my best find of the day. Then I got another pull tab signal. I find two types of pull tabs in this park with the smaller ones having a jumpy reading on the AT Pro of 52-54. The larger ones read a jumpy 61 to 64. The signal I got was somewhere in between. I decided to dig the target sure it would be another pull tab. When I saw silver in the hole my first thought was that it was an aluminum token. Much to my surprise it w image.webpas big silver. A barber half-my first! With the signal so weird I checked the hole again and found a buffalo. I closed the hole and rechecked for signals. I still had a mid tone and I knew it was another nickel. The buffs were 1913 type II plain and a 1916 D. Awesome spill! A great 2 hour hunt!ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1462834655.022341.webp

Congratulations jewelseeker! I know my ATPro "dumbs down" the signal whenever nickles are in the hole with other coins or metal objects. But any signal in the 60's is worth digging! Sub 8-)

Awesome find! That's not a signal I'd expect for a silver half on the AT Pro (not that I've found one yet!).

sweet spill !!!well done gutting out the mid tones !!!

Incredible numbers with incredible results.
Those are some sweet coins.
Congrats on the Big Barber

I dig a lot of pull tabs but sometimes I just get tired and stop. This is what keeps me digging those darn things.

That's why I don't dig pull tabs - I'm afraid I will find something really cool, then will be compelled to dig them the rest of my life! And I'm not getting any younger, but these pull tab stories have me second guessing. Great finds!

I only cleaned it up enough to see if I could get a date off this nickel. We're pretty sure it was a 1924.
What looks like scratches going left to right is where the nickel looks like it's pitted, not from scrubbing.

Yeh, I have to agree with you on the AT pro. Seems like when a high tone is mixed with iron I can get numbers to hit an occasional 80. However, when mixed with other coins the numbers hit much lower. Still..I absolutely love hunting with the AT pro.

That's a great spill you found. Love them Buffalo's, but that big silver is the bomb! Congratulations!

Great finds.
It definitely pays to always re check the hole. It explains quite a bit too when you start pulling out the rest of the finds.
