HEY GUYS AND GALS

Me and Cousin ED went out for a hunt today after getting crap yesterday.....8 musket balls.

Managed to pull out a couple keepers out of the far end of where we been hunting. New spot to us but ended up overlapping the other site a little bit.

The badge/eblem is a cool find...silver !!!

Any information on it would be appreciated.

The gun part has --BREVETE SGDG-- written on it. Any ideas on this piece would also be appreciated.

Mine is the Montreal Coat of Arms pre 1938...but don,t know what it was used on or for.

The beaver on the bottom was changed out after 1938.

THe silver object we just call a badge over here, very much used like a womens brooch.

The pewter handle looks like a play/cap gun.

That is possible on the silver piece .

The handle thing has ..BREVETE SGDG...written on it which is part of the older Browning gun lines...thats all I could find on that name . But could be a imitation to resemble a browning gun..making it toy/cap gun.

Brevete SGDG is an abbreviation that stands for the phrase brevete sans garantie du gouvernement which concerns products from France. This French phrase generally means patented without state guarantee. It is found on Many guns not just Brownings.

Cool..ty for the info..I remember reading something to that effect about France..but forgot til you just jogged my memory.

That makes it a lil more interesting as the French were in that area where it was found.

Nice score AQUA. I like the badge. Do you know Leslie who posts here? HH, Q.
