I found this about 4" down at my GG-grandfathers home place this March. I have searched the internet for hours on end.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Found in Waldron Arkansas. The house was built somewhere between 1850-1860 and the family ran a cotton gin, grist mill and they also had a blacksmith shop and a general store of sorts.

The letters on the cross look like v c h y a, clockwise from the too with the a in the center.

The three ringer was found Friday evening in my backyard..just showing off and something to compare for size.

My first thought was part of a tool like a wood plane or something.

That was my first thought as well. But I don't think it would be functional.
