Qrter Stater Field - Day 7...

Still lovely weather I spent 5 hours on the field & Dad joined me for just less than 2.
A good day for Roman Scrappies (6), 1 was a barborate imitation 'AS' which is unusual & our first of this denomination.

Medieval Horse Harness Hanger (got my blood up hoping for the Pendant)

Broken Hammered Silver Penny

On the way back to the car in the next field over I got a hammered I needed for the collection, its fairly scarce:
Henry VIII 'Sovereign' Penny
1509-1523 AD
Durham Ecclesiastical Mint struck by Bishop Ruthall.

Looks like a very good field for hammereds! Whats with the AS? Do You have a closeup pic? Sounds interesting!

The best hammered was not from the Qter Stater Field, but the broken one was.

The 'AS' is the top centre, it will be impossible to photo, but you maybe able to make out the large 'V' at 2'oc & before it a reverse 'S' on its side. Other giveaways are the Head with funny 'nose'.
