Quartered LC in the making?

Braved the cold for one last hunt possibility before the Big Chill this weekend. Hit two new sites, which didn't produce a lot but the largie is interesting. After I cleaned it up I believe they were gonna quarter it. What's y'all's thoughts Big ol lead shot too with a few buttons.

That was my first thought as well since the lines were different directions (just plow marks) but after cleaning it the lines are the same in the fact of how they're scratched in. Maybe a different way to cut them perhaps. I'm curious if there's a difference cutting copper vs silver?

I was thinking plow mark until I saw it has the same marking on the reverse side. It does look like someone was trying to do something with it. Neat find.

Exactly. Look at it hard enuff and you can see they were over compensating for the first cut being off a bit

Someone was trying to half the LC to make change.
Thick One Cent probably a hard process.

Usually a cut is a distinctive line on the coin.
Taco looking coppers are folded by the plow hitting them.
Granted as stated there can be a cut line on one side from a disc hit.

I grabbed a few coppers showing the difference.
(Granted some cuts might be disc breaks also.)

Unless it had rotated dies, the obverse/reverse marks don't line up.

Nice group bud!!! A few def look plow gotten but some are def cut. I have a half and a quarter of one somewhere. I'll have to dig them out

Def don't line up but do for quartering imo. I'm just spitballin , don't see many at all.
