The tip of a drill could be various sizes depending on what size hole was being made. The drill would be hafted on to a straight shaft like an arrow only shorter. A block of wood or a stone would be used to apply downward presssure on the shaft. A small hand bow would be wrapped around the shaft and pushed back and forth to create the twisting motion on the shaft. I'm sure that fine point drills would break or wear down because of use and would be touched up with pressure flaking to put an edge on the tip. I hope this helps.
