question about TD Bank\Garda

Hello everyone. First time poster, long time lurker. Coin roll hunt usually rolls at a time, not boxes, so i have no experience "ordering" boxes of coin. Anyway this was my first attempt:

So I Ordered a box of half dollars last Thursday from my local TD bank who gets their coin from Garda. They asked for my account info, gave it to them, and they told me that it would be in on Tuesday. So I called them Tuesday morning and they said that the truck that delivered the coin that day didn't have any Halves on board, and that they ordered more for Thursday. So I said no problem. Today (Thursday) I called them and they told me that Garda doesn't "do" Half Dollars. I didn't get a chance to argue with the guy over the fact that he made me wait a week for him to tell me that they can't get them. I was shocked that they didn't "carry" Half dollars, so I wasn't sure what to say lol. Just curious on your guys take. Did they just blow me off because I was asking for something unusual, or does Garda really not do halves. Thanks.

there was a post just the other day that said the TD back has a new policy of not ordering halves for anyone. That may be the situation. I used to get $1000.00 bags from them a few yes=ars back, but they told me the regional manager said it was costing them to order it for me and were no longer able to order them for me.

It's TD Bank's policy not to get your Halves... Not Garda's.... I get halves delivered by Garda all the time.

Try Bank of America. I'm happy with them getting boxes. Only gotten dimes and nickels so far. But I do not hold an account and only took the tip that they have boxes of coins based on a friend formerly working there. Gone to 2 different branches, I asked for a box of dimes or nickels, they got it, paid them and that was that. So no clue if they have halves or not. I don't have enough to get a box so if I did get any I'd only ask for loose rolls. Kind of don't know if I'll ask right away because what if they have to order and then it gets into oh what is your account? I'd say why should I need one? I have $ so why can't you serve me.

I've had a similar situation with TD bank this week that is posted on another thread. Seems as though db23 is right about TD bank having a policy of not ordering half dollars. Oh well, fortunately there are other banks that will.

TD in westchester NY wont order halves ordollar coins for regular customers anymore because some CRHers GOT TOO GREEDY and believed its ok to tie up a teller for a half hour and run out of bags so they could do their hobby once a week. The best part is many argued over this subject plenty of times on this forum. I am still waiting for those who thought it was ok to man up and apologize for ruining a good thing for the rest of us. Please note that i have been dumping at a number of TDs and the only problems ive encountered with my system is unfriendly faces at larchmont NY due to a CRHer who dumped way too much after having ordered boxes form that same bank.
