question about tuneing

ok I will admit to being a newbie but can somebody explain tuneing a metal detector ,I've read a couple posts where somebody has asked if a certain unit can be tuned or not ,wht is the benifit ,is this something that needs to be done often ? ok let the laughing begin

Yes, they can be peaked out. Tweaked what ever you want to call it.

Coming out of the factory your detector was just one of a thousand going down the line and was only set within a certain Tolerance buy the person performing said task. Sending to a repair center they may or may not spend more time setting it
for you as required.


If the detector is getting up in the years, (OLD) and has been subjected to harsh conditions, like excessive heat things could break down. This could be cause for a Tune up/Refurb...
