Re: Question for all you "Minelab Explorer SE" pros out there

What about the Excelerator brand of coil for the Tracker? Seems to be highly rated. Better than Sun Ray?

I am thinking I will surely need a smaller coil, like 6" or so. Any thoughts?

Mike from woodland detectors did a nice post about coils. I believe its in the minelab forum. Very good post. If you cant find it just PM him. I know he will be more then willing to help you out.

2 words: SEF 10 X 12. Love it. Love the 6 X 8 less. Minelab factory Pro Coil is good too from what I've heard.

Sorry !

I Like my 6" Excelerator for crowded and narrow spots.

Very Nice Depth in spite of size

Re: Question for all you "Minelab Explorer SE" pros out there

It is because the 11" stock coil picks up alot of deep junk or falses on things like bottlecaps?
Or is just because of maneuverability/squeezing into tighter places?

I always wondered how Minelabs perform with such big stock coils. At least from their photograps they look big. :dontknow:

both

the 11" Does Surprisingly well in Trashy Areas,
But when you want to Pinpoint a Target,
in a Patch of Targets, You sometimes Find yourself
Moving 2 Feet away & Working your way into
the one you Originaly wanted, By digging
10 other Targets First :P

In cases Like this it's like detecting with a 6" Pinpointer
& You can Cherry pick the Goodies First,
between the trash. Then go Back & Clean out the trash
looking for hidden goodies.

Re: Question for all you "Minelab Explorer SE" pros out there

Thx for being straight up with that Jeff. :)
That is kind of what I thought after having the same experience with another manufacturer's 11" stock coil.
It's a pretty good idea to take any coil package you can get with your purchase
as long as it's reasonable. It will save you some money down the road. :sign13:

Between the stock pro (love it!!) coil and a Sunray X-5 you should be set. That is how I hunt. The X-5 is THE best sniper coil in trash I have ever used.
