Question for Button Experts

Is the button in this picture from a Prussian uniform?

The crown shown on your button's front appears to be a match for this World War One era German Army button. Also, note that this button's front is "rimless" ...and so is your button.

You can view other specimens, including rimless and non-rimless, at this website: http://timemachine13.com/german_buttons_and_hardware/more_german_buttons_.htm

Thanks for this. The problem I was having is that internet searches turn up similar buttons, but they are sometimes captioned with very different descriptions.
