Question for R Gecy bout Hummingbird or other experts

I am not an expert but have used the Humminbird extensively.......

I found that you want it near the rear of the boat but forward of your propeller... if you can put it level and down the centerline is best.... if you angle your transducer then your image will be effected.... install your GPS antenna as close as possible above you transducer...

If you have to put it on the side of the boat maybe from the transom then put it on the side where the propller blade is moving downward...

Thanks Goho, appreciated figured as much have them installed on two of my workboats but have a salvaged yacht I was going to put one on, thanks again

OldGold,

Greg is right on. You may want to post some pictures if possible so we can see what other issues you may come across. Do you have a keel that may block one side, will you need a thru hull, etc?

I also have a forum like this dedicated to the Humminbird SI units and you would be able to see some other installs and get advice from the Humminbird Tech guys directly.

Good Luck,
