Question on $2 bills

Hi, and sorry if this is not posted under the right forum- such a big site and cannot find a place that is appropriate to post this.

I am planning to go to the bank to pick up my half dollars and was thinking of buying $2 bills to search through for red seals. Do you think it is worth trying to buy some? if I do not want them, i am not bringing them back to the same bank- will other banks exchange $2 bills for other denominations? Thanks for responses.

I did actually get a $2 red seal from this bank about 2 years ago but havent purchased any $2 bills since. it was 1953.

The last time I ordered $2 bills, they were brand spankin new, mostly in sequential order. I like spending them, but I'm sure other banks will gladly exchange for you.

TD bank as well? that would be the bank that I would exchange them (my dump bank) plus i do not plan on ordering $2 bills, just get whatever they have on hand. I am not into paper money, but do have some silver certificates 1935 and 1957 as well as a couple red seal $2 bills and a $10 blue seal from the 30s

$2 bills are easy to dump. You don't even need to go to a teller. They are accepted at ATM's. I have dumped them into ATM's before. Cash deposits at TD banks don't get credited until the following business day though.. Amazing how they have coin counters in most of their banks, but no currency counters in any of their ATM's. Do you have a bank that has envelope free atms, such as BofA or Chase. If you do, you can just deposit there and the money will be available immediately.

Thanks!!! went to the bank and got my 3 half dollar boxes, enders! I decided not to ask this time, was very crowded and the tellers were rushing for some reason. Maybe next time! hh
