Does anyone have any idea on how to remove a discoloration from an old collection sticker? The sticker has been gone on this for a long time.

Is it leftover goo from the sticker, a reaction of the material to the adhesive, or is it that the rest of it has had color change from exposure to light, while the part hidden behind the sticker was not exposed? If it's old goo, a product called "Goo Gone" might work. If it's either of the other two, I don't know.

DogNose it was prob;y a combination of all of the above that Robert spoke of ! If it were mine, I'd take it to the closest University OR contact them and ask them ....... they will in all probability ask you to bring it to them to examine it . I think a low powered lazar would remove the dark stain BUT then you'll have a ( possibly ) light colored stain where the dark stain used to be . maybe a lazar cleaning of the entire object ??? OR leave it be and put up with it !

Personally, I'd leave it alone. Also, show us the whole thing!
ok here is the pendant. before i had soaked it. it has incised hatch lines on one side, and some on the other tally marks on both edges towards top.

I soaked it twice in warm water with some dawn dishsoap. this did not change the discoloration. I then tried goo gone and finger nail polish remover on the tag stains, no change.

Acetone possibly. I’m not sure how sturdy the material is or id say cleaning vinegar
