I have heard about people with other detectors like Deus or I think Equinoxes changing the frequency and getting signals that weren't there before or something... being able to find more things on hunted ground. I know that the ACE series (at least the ACE 300, because I have one) has an adjustable frequency and I was wondering if changing this could work in a similar way as with other detectors in being able to pick up some things that were hiding before. Any opinions and experiences are welcome!

Your machine operates at 8kHz, and does not really have the ability to "change" frequencies.

Hmm. So what does it mean with the different frequencies?

It switches to 8.2kHz / 8.3kHz, and drops your sensitivity a smidge. Certainly not enough to make a difference in depth or types of targets. 8kHz is a compromise frequency, middle of the road so to speak. More depth on silver coins would require a drop to 3khz, while the ability to find a half-gram gold nugget would require a 17kHz machine.:occasion14:

Thanks Terry! I learn something new everyday!

Those are different frequencies, but that isn't a multi frequency machine.

That is a frequency "shifter", so two detectors don't bleed over onto one another.

Machines that don't have that feature,...... factories will shift two machines apart on the bench.
Most often for husband and wife that detect together.
